Magnetic Field Meters

EMF Fluxgate Magnetic Field Meter / Fluxgate Magnetometer LM-MP6000-EMF

EMF fluxgate magnetic field meter LM-MP6000-EMF for measuring very weak magnetic fields and for testing in accordance with IATA953

Fluxgate-Magnetometer LM-MP6000-EMF

The List-Magnetik LM-MP6000-EMF EMF fluxgate magnetic field meter (fluxgate magnetometer) can measure very weak DC and AC magnetic fields in the range of 0–400 µT (microtesla), 0–4 G (gauss), or 0–300 A/m. The device uses a fluxgate measuring probe to measure magnetic fields in the transverse direction.

The perfect solution for the requirements of IATA953 / UN2807

One area of application is detecting magnetic fields in parcels or luggage without opening them. IATA Packaging Regulation 953 contains specifications for packaging materials used for air transport and describes limit values and labeling requirements. UN 2807, Magnetized Substances, is a dangerous goods regulation that also covers magnetism.
Items with a magnetic field strength of less than 0.159 A/m (2 mG or 200 µT) at a distance of 2.1 m (7 ft) are approved for air transport.
Items with a magnetic field strength of less than 0.418 A/m (5.25 mG or 525 µT) at a distance of 4.6 m (15 ft) must be labeled.
Items with a stronger magnetic field cannot be transported by air freight.

Highly sensitive sensor for weak EMF magnetic fields

A fluxgate sensor is highly sensitive and is used in research and development to precisely measure magnetic fields. For instance, it is used in geophysics and archaeology to discover magnetic materials beneath the Earth's surface and in space travel and navigation to accurately measure the Earth's magnetic field. They are also suitable for measuring magnetic shielding and in building biology.

Measurement of the Earth's magnetic field and interference fields

The LM-MP6000-EMF is ideal for measuring the Earth's magnetic field as well as other weak, low-frequency magnetic interference fields. The strength and direction of the Earth's magnetic field vary depending on the measurement location. In Europe, for example, the horizontal component relative to the Earth's surface is approximately 20 mT, while the vertical component is approximately 44 mT.

The LM-MP6000-EMF fluxgate magnetometer can display weak alternating electromagnetic fields (e.g., in the vicinity of electrical appliances) graphically and indicate the measured frequency. A Fourier analysis supports the evaluation.

Scan function for visualization

In areas with stable, uniform magnetic fields, the scan function enables area-wide detection, which can then be statistically evaluated. This makes it ideal for magnetic field line analysis and magnetic flux measurement. The scan function supports detailed magnetic field analysis and enhances the capabilities of modern magnetic field measuring devices and integrated systems.

Data logger and interfaces

Thanks to its flexible measurement value memory, combined digital and analog display, and peak value measurement, the device supports various applications in magnetic field measurement. These features make it a versatile magnetic field measuring device for professional use, serving as a digital EMF gaussmeter, magnetometer, or teslameter.

Thanks to the wireless interface, data can be transferred not only to a Windows PC, but also to apps for Android and iOS. This allows us to provide a modern solution for mobile magnetic field measurement systems. Flexible storage and evaluation of magnetic measurements supports complex analyses, such as determining magnetic field strength or intensity and measuring magnetic flux density.

The device can be connected to an external power source via the USB interface for continuous operation. Additionally, the device has an SCPI interface, which allows it to perform measurements and deliver measured values remotely during operation. This is an ideal prerequisite for automated magnetic field testing procedures in industrial magnetic field measurement.

Verification with calibration standard

We also offer a calibration standard, or reference magnet, that you can use to check the accuracy of your magnetic field tester at any time. It is an indispensable component for precise, standard-compliant magnetic field measurement solutions in laboratories, development, and production. Our systems are among the most reliable magnetic field measuring devices in Germany, meeting the highest standards for modern magnetic field testing procedures and measurement methods.
