Ferrite content meter FERRITE-CHECK 140

for ferrite content measurement in austenitic and duplex steels

Ferrite content meter FERRITE-CHECK 140

Ferrite content measurement kept simple

The List-Magnetik FERRITE-CHECK 140 is a compact, handheld device with an integrated probe for non-destructive testing and analysis of materials. In accordance with the Basel standard DIN EN ISO 8249, it measures the ferrite content in austenitic and duplex steels using the magnetic induction method. This well-established NDT (non-destructive testing) method delivers precise results without damaging the component.

Display of the ferrite content via OLED display

With just one button and self-explanatory, multilingual menu navigation, the ferrite content meter is easy to operate. This makes it ideal for quick use in non-destructive testing (NDT). The illuminated, high-contrast OLED display shows measurement results in either FN (ferrite number) or Fe% (iron content).

This device is ideal for non-destructive material testing, especially for material analysis and thickness measurement, as well as when used with methods such as ultrasonic or hardness testing. It facilitates precise testing processes in materials technology and often replaces costly or destructive testing methods.

Measure ferrite content in welds

Measuring the ferrite content is crucial for welded duplex steels to ensure the weld is strong enough. Insufficient heat input or cooling can result in too low of a ferrite content, which could weaken the weld. Non-destructive testing (NDT), ultrasonic testing, and material analysis can efficiently detect such defects.

Fast and continuous ferrite content measurement

The FERRITE-CHECK 140 provides very accurate and quick ferrite content determination. For testing materials with smooth or polished surfaces, the device can be switched to fast continuous measurement mode. As the probe is moved along the surface, the device continuously stores the measured values. After lifting the probe, the device displays the statistics, including the minimum, maximum, and average values of the measurement series. This feature is particularly useful for NDT (non-destructive testing) and rapid analysis of ferrite content in weld seams.

Calibrating the ferrite content meter

The FERRITE-CHECK 140 ferrite content measuring device is supplied with three calibration standards that are traceably calibrated according to the NIST standard. This device is ideal for testing materials and performing non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds and materials to accurately measure ferrite content.

Manage and send measurement data with a free application

Ferrite content meter FERRITE-CHECK 140

To further process your measurement data, you can pair your measuring device with mobile Android and iOS devices. Or you communicate with a Windows PC. This is made possible by wireless technology. With the Lima Connect app you can manage projects and assign the measuring points on a photo. The measurement results can be statistically evaluated and displayed graphically. The app for Android, iOS and Windows is free.

Service tool

The free Windows app Lima Service is available on our homepage. You can use it to set the time on your device that will be used during data transfer.

If there is a malfunction of the device, you can read data from the device, which will help our technicians in telephone support to analyze it. Thus, we may be able to remedy the situation without you having to send in the device and lose time.

The application runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Older Windows versions are not tested.
