Layer Thickness Measurement in Pipes and Interiors
Coating thickness measurement is often performed on surfaces. Many coating thickness gauges are designed for vertical placement of a probe with plenty of space above. But what do you do when there is not enough space to place the probe "from above"?
List-Magnetik has several solutions for such applications.
Firstly, many of our probes are designed to rotate 90°. This is standard on the compact and robust (and very stylish) TOP-CHECK coating thickness gauge. If you need to measure coating thickness under a steel beam, you can swivel the probe to access corners and openings.
Coating thickness measurements in pipes are more difficult. For example, if it is deeper or the inside diameter is too small to push the gauge in. The DX1-FT probe is ideal for measuring in a pipe with an inside diameter of 10 mm or more and a measuring depth of up to 60 mm. The DX6-FT probe is recommended for thicker layers and larger IDs. Both probes are used with the MEGA-CHECK DX coating thickness gauge.
List-Magnetik even has a solution for the inside wall of a boiler. There is a special telescopic rod that makes such measurements easy. With the TOP-CHECK telescopic set, you can extend your arm by 1.70 meters and also set any angle up to 180 degrees.

Solution 1: Probe DX1-FT or DX6-FT
The DX1-FT probe is ideal for measuring coating thickness in a pipe with an inner diameter of 10 mm or more and a measuring depth of up to 60 mm. For thicker coatings and larger inside diameters, the DX6-FT probe is recommended. Both are operated with the MEGA-CHECK DX coating thickness gauge.

Solution 2: TOP-CHECK Ferro-1000 with telescope set
If you need to measure coatings that are difficult to access, we have an excellent solution for you with the TOP-CHECK Ferro-1000, the TOP-CHECK Telescope Set, and the Lima Connect App for Android.

- Measuring the thickness of the enamel coating on a steel boiler

With the TOP-CHECK telescopic set, you can extend your arm by 1.70 meters and set any angle up to 180 degrees. The TOP-CHECK Ferro-1000 coating thickness gauge allows you to place it gently on the coating and is forgiving if you cannot position it exactly vertically. The coating thickness measurement is still accurate. The measured value can be immediately transferred to your Android mobile device via the Bluetooth interface so that you can see the results of your measurement.

Solution 2: MEGA-CHECK with magnetic inductive measuring probe PF-30 and telescopic rod
Need to measure the thickness of the inner coating of a steel pipe? We have a special solution for you. With a PF-30 probe mounted on a 3.1 meter long self-aligning telescopic rod.
When the telescopic rod is immersed in the pipe, the probe is placed on two poles and measures layers up to 30 mm. The probe cable is safely guided inside the telescopic rod. The MEGA-CHECK Coating Thickness Gauge is attached to the telescoping wand with a holder, leaving both hands free to maneuver the telescoping wand.
The device and probe can also be used without the telescopic rod.
